She is best known for her roles in Spamalot's West End revival, the Regent's Park revival of Into the Woods, as well as The Wizard of Oz (as the Wicked Witch of the West). She has received three Olivier Award nominations for her performance. In 2015, she was part of the Game of Thrones fifth season with the role of Septa Unella. The actress was also a key character in the 2012 adaptation of Les Miserables. Waddingham has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award.
